"A Whisper of Hope" is a gentle yet poignant representation of the delicate balance between life and loss. The image features a single dandelion puff, with one of its seeds drifting away, leaving a faint red trail in its wake. This trail, subtle yet unmistakable, hints at the pain and violence endured by women, even as it contrasts with the purity and innocence symbolized by the dandelion. The design is intentionally minimalist, allowing the viewer to focus on the fragile beauty of the dandelion and the single, solitary seed that breaks away. The soft background creates an ethereal atmosphere, emphasizing the gentle motion of the seed and the quiet sorrow it represents. This image speaks to the fragility of life and the small, often unnoticed acts of violence that can have profound impacts. This poster captures the tension between hope and loss, life and death, in the context of violence against women. "A Whisper of Hope" invites viewers to reflect on the quiet resilience of those who endure, even as it calls attention to the subtle yet significant marks left by violence. The design is both a tribute to the strength of women and a reminder of the ongoing struggle to protect that which is fragile and precious.

Stop killing women

According to UN Women, 2022 was the year in which the most women were intentionally murdered to date: nearly 89,000. Of these ‘Around 48,800 women and girls worldwide were killed by their intimate partners or other family members (including fathers, mothers, uncles and brothers). This means that, on average, more than 133 women or girls are killed every day by someone in their own family.’
If it’s not bad enough that femicide is increasing, the real statistic is probably much higher: ‘for roughly four in ten intentional murders of women and girls, there is not enough information to identify them as gender-related killings because of national variation in criminal justice recording and investigation practices’.
This must change. So this year, we want to ask your help in drawing attention to all forms of violence against women: for the world to stop killing women.
