Today, unpaid internships are a common part of a student's education. While they're seen as a way to get your foot in the door of your chosen profession, they're also problematic. Many students are exploited in the workplace as unpaid interns who are pushed to work long hours and tasked with completing jobs that paid employees do. Playing on the foot-in-the-door idiom, I wanted to address this issue by conveying that unpaid internships are not always what they seem.
