Moulay A. Essakalli
Essakalli's design career began over 30 years ago when he hand-painted signs on local shop windows for store owners in downtown Casablanca. Since then, he has been experimenting with visual form and function in other media, including interactive, print, and broadcast design for organizations such as PBS/Channel 2, and Harvard University, among others. Prior to co-founding Zid Zid Kids, Essakalli earned a Bachelors degree in graphic design from the Rhode Island School of Design (USA, 1992) and was an award-winning print, broadcast and interactive designer. He also holds a Masters Degree in Sociology from the Université de Nice, France (1985). Born and raised in Casablanca, he returned to Morocco with his young family in 2003. He now lives in Marrakech where he is dedicated to raising his children and to the global success of his company Zid Zid Kids. He is a native speaker of Arabic and French and fluent in English.
