Kate Leake studied Illustration for Childrens Publishing at the North Wales School of Art &Design;, and graduated in 2004.

Since then, she has worked as a freelance illustrator, based in her home town of Stoke-on-Trent, and has had numerous childrens books and greetings cards published.
