Hyungjoo A. Kim is a visual communication designer, multidisciplinary researcher, curator, and educator. She is a Professor and Coordinator of the Visual Communication Design program at Purdue University in the USA. Her research and creative practice explore the transformative power of design in shaping human perception, culture, and experience.

Kim’s work has been published and exhibited internationally through major exhibitions and design platforms, including the 4th Block International Triennial, Trnava Poster Triennial, Bienal Internacional del Cartel en México (BICM), IPBP Nanjing International Biennial of Posters for Peace, Bienal de Diseño y Cartel Bolivia (BICeBé), Peru Design Biennial, Golden Bee Global Biennale, Graphis, and Poster Stellars. She also contributes actively to the international design community through advisory, steering, and jury roles for organizations and events including the United States International Poster Biennial (USIPB), B.I. International Poster Art Biennale (BIPB), C-IDEA International Design Educators Association, International Conference on Art & Design (ICAD), and Posters for Future.
