About me
Born in Locarno in 1956, from a very young age Renato Tagli showed the his passion
for artistic expressions: hence the choice toundertake studies at the CSIA in Lugano.
After some experiences abroad, in 1983 he started with his life partner, Sabina Oberholzer, the graphic design studio in Cevio.
Alongside his work as a graphic designer, he cultivates a deep interest in art and nature, which has led him to transform woods and gardens
into art installations and plant sculptures, acting directly on the landscape or modifying its appearance through natural interventions
always in tune with the environment.
These are works in which the temporal dimension projected into the future is of fundamental importance, so that the work lives and transforms itself over time until its consumption.
Over time he then developed his own conception of art essentially focused on the relationship between man and nature in which the two disciplinary fields,
graphics and art, not only operate alongside each other, but often intersect:
starting from the Theory of Colors, of fundamental in his history as both a graphic designer and an artist, up to the creation of real fabrics of refined quality.
In his case, in fact, the playful component, the freedom of invention, the spontaneity of gesture have always been essential elements of creation, which explains
the variety of solutions: from manual work typical of applied arts to environmental intervention, from painting from minimalist ancestry to 'programmed' art.
