TAMPA, Fla. — Poster for Tomorrow’s 2016 “A Day for Tomorrow” art exhibition is coming to Tampa for the first time. This year’s exhibition theme, “Make Extremism History!” highlights 100 posters from artists inspired by ending extremism in society, politics, environmental issues, wealth distribution and more.

The free exhibition opens on Human Rights Day, Saturday, December 10 at The Brew Bus Terminal & Brewery, 4101 N. Florida Ave. Attendees can enter raffles and speak with Poster for Tomorrow volunteers during dedicated gallery hours from 1 - 5 p.m. Saturday and 3 - 7 p.m. Sunday, December 11.

“Part of what makes this exhibit so powerful is the representation of extremism in so many contexts, from climate change to gender equality to immigration issues,” said Stephanie Gocklin, volunteer organizer. “Poster for Tomorrow reminds individuals they are not alone in the pursuit of equality, justice and opportunity.”

This is the fifth exhibition Gocklin has held in Florida but the first in Tampa Bay. In 2012, she hosted the first-ever U.S. exhibition in Gainesville, FL.

The top 100 posters were selected by a jury of renowned artists from more than 5,300 submissions spanning more than a hundred countries. Poster for Tomorrow is a branch of 4Tomorrow, a nonprofit Parisian organization that raises awareness about human rights issues. Past exhibition themes have included: gender equality, healthcare, homelessness and education.
