Simple hollow oval black eyes and drooping eyebrows evoke the oppression of helplessness, grief and forced compliance. A red prohibition symbol with a black padlock stands in place of the mouth, depicting a muzzled voice — unable or forbidden to speak. Vertically positioned beneath the eyes, the handwritten word "silence" forms the nose, spelling out the central theme of enforced silence.
