“Conditional Privacy” explores how the illusion of digital privacy can undermine human dignity. Set inside a solemn data storage building, two glass figures stand before a mirror labeled “We value your privacy.” Believing they are unseen, they interact freely, trusting that their personal moments remain protected. Beneath the promise, however, a muted disclaimer reads “terms and conditions apply.”
From behind the wall, the mirror is revealed as one-way. A worker within the system observes every gesture, treating intimate human behavior as accessible data. What appears private becomes exposed without awareness or consent.
Inspired by real-world data misuse cases, the poster critiques how institutional trust can mask surveillance and control. When personal information is quietly collected, shared, or inherited, individuals lose agency over their own identities. The work argues that dignity in the digital age depends on transparency, consent, and respect for personal boundaries, reminding viewers that privacy is not only a technical issue but a fundamental human right.

It can mean something different to everyone. But we believe that dignity is an inherent human right that transcends language and location. It is the pulse of our shared humanity. And we would like to invite you to defend it with us.
