When the theme was announced I asked myself what could make human beings better. I immediately thought of discrimination, and why does it exist when it creates disparities between people? Knowing well the insults and criticisms linked to my physique, I wanted to work on grossophobia. A lot of things are restricted for overweight people. Clothes, the right to health, activities... I wanted to show that a so-called "fat" person is as beautiful as anyone else. And what better way to show this than with a nude photograph of an overweight person. So I chose to take this photograph, free of rights, in black and white in order to better see the contrasts and the shapes. But I also needed to put an impactful message on this poster. "Respect Me" Respect me for what I am. Finally, what every human being should do with anyone. I decided to write this sentence in red on her body, as if it was inked directly on her form, like scars. To also show that sometimes it is not a choice to be overweight, but a disease, and that you have to suffer this disease, as well as the criticisms linked to it. All this to say: Do The Right Thing
