The creative inspiration of the work comes from the Song Dynasty rubbing (original calligraphy) of Su Shi regular script of Ouyang Xiu's Zuiweng Ting Ji poem art work. With Eight Essay Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties’ names (i.e. Han Yu, Liu Zongyuan, Ouyang Xiu, Su Xun, Su Shi, Su Zhe, Wang Anshi, Zeng Gong) as the theme, simplify their names from Traditional characters. By means of artistic expression techniques such as deconstruction and reorganization of Chinese characters, spatial structure, virtual and real differentiation, golden ratio, etc., the characteristics of the Eight Essay Masters of Tang and Song Dynasties are also integrated into the design of a single poster, which reflects the respect for them, the inheritance of their spirit as well. It combines eight single posters of Eight Essay Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties which is laid out by typography with the advantage of the its structure. At the same time, it integrates the artistic conception and layout of traditional Chinese calligraphy and landscape painting. Its reasonable use and integration of the beauty of Jiangnan Chinese window lattice, lines, and the beauty of the subtle and simple red Chinese seal, all those make up an art poster featuring the cultural elements on names of the Eight Essay Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties.
