"If you build a wall remember what you leave behind". Through the idea of the quote of Italo Calvino, I understood that my concept would be stronger and more effective if, instead of showing suffering people, I would emphasize how the freedom of movement is a win-win. And also how everyone would be affected in a negative way if this human right would be denied. I decided to used mixed media, drawing over my picture to erase part of it and underline the idea of absence through a completely white “cut”.The black and white is used in a graphic way, to define better shapes and context.

In last year's brief we talked about "a world where boundaries are becoming less and less meaningful. Now more than ever, we are one people. No matter where we live, we are all equally powerless in the face of war or environmental disaster."
