Eni has been operating in Nigeria since the 60s, it constitutes Agip and start its exploration activities.
Oil spills from pipelines operated by Eni are a recurrent phenomenon. They have contaminated the cultivated fields, aquifers, wetlands and rivers from which communities draw water for all the needs of daily life.
The consequences of spills are also sometimes aggravated by the occurrence of fires and delays in the remediation of contaminated sites.
