Intravenous therapy allows to infuse liquid substances very quickly. It can provide medications, glucose, blood, fluids, so it helps on so many levels. It helps to deal with dehydration, undernutrition, but also is used for chemotherapy. Unfortunately, so many people have no access even to basic medical care. Often a reason for that is a geographical location, but often the door to medical care is closed for those who have no insurance or money. Moreover, in many cases these are political decisions, which actually cause that even basic medical care is not granted. The words “access denied”, where fluid stops, refer to a phrase which is recognizable for many of us on so many levels, when we cannot get to something we actually need.
