The poster was designed by Alice Fleury, Valerie Gatien and Jean-Sebastien Chartier-Plante (students/designers) and Sylvie Pouliot (professor/designer) in the context of the research activities of the «Atelier DIR» Université Laval. The poster denounces inaccessibility to safe drinking water. Icon to cocktails, the martini glass targets adult societies where consumerism abounds and unconsciousness to the worldwide problem of accessibility to safe drinking water is omnipresent. The thermometer, a metaphorical representation to the cocktail stick, refers to the fever caused by unsafe water diseases, visibly apparent in the martini glass. CHEERS common word used to toast, is subtly embedded in this unsafe water: this contextual paradox represents the contrast between deprived and privileged societies, and aims to dramatize the situation and thus strengthening the concept of the poster. Would the target audience drink this water?
