The refugees cannot go home because of war and persecution. Some end up in refugee camps that are unsafe and located near conflict areas for months, even years at a time. Others live in situations that leave them vulnerable, exposed to abuse or unable to access fundamental human rights. For some of these refugees, the only hope is to be accepted and provided home for resettlement by another country that will give them a chance to restart their lives in safety.

‘Home’ means something different to all of us. The place where we grew up, the place where we live at the moment, the place we come to relax or entertain our friends. But for far too many people home remains a distant dream, as they try to eke out an existence in sub-standard accommodation or sleep rough on the streets.
