MAKE A BETTER TOMORROW
Hervé Matine: “The future of our planet lies in our own hands.
If we want to create a world we all want to live in, we must become socially conscious and take an active role in social debate.”

poster for tomorrow is an independent, non-profit international project whose goal is to encourage people, both in and outside the design community, to make posters to stimulate debate on issues that affect us all.
We’re going to begin our second edition of our poster competition on April 10th, which will call for the universal abolition of the death penalty.

10/10/10 – WORLD & EUROPEAN DAY
AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY
October the 10th 2010 (10/10/10) is the World and European Day against the Death Penalty. On this day we intend to hold 100 exhibitions in 100 cities, curated by 100 local partner organisations. We want to make every exhibition locally relevant by allowing the group of designers (our ‘team’) in each location to select posters they want to display.
In this way we hope that every exhibition will become more powerful than was possible last year, as the posters will hopefully relate to, and resonate more powerfully in, every location. We'll also make it possible for every poster to be freely downloadable, so anyone can hold their own exhibition in their window, school, wherever and everywhere.

NEW FOR 2010 – MUSIC FOR TOMORROW
As Fela Kuti once said, music is my weapon. So inspired, we will also be expanding our activities to include music for tomorrow. We will invite music groups across the world to support our cause by dedicating their performances, concerts, releases – anything and everything – to raising public awareness of the abolition of the death penalty cause.

JOIN US
If you’re a designer, or artist, or just plain interested, make a poster. If you’re a musician, make some music or take part in a concert. And if you’re both, or neither, help us organise an event. You will find more details of how to make a better tomorrow in the near future, but please get in touch with us if you would like to know more right now.
The poster competition will open on April 10th. But we’re always open to new ideas and collaboration. To know more about our music related initiatives, you can stay in touch with us on facebook, twitter, through our newsletter or by simply dropping us an email.
