For this reason, we decided to ask for help to Google, the most important website (apart from ours) in the world. We’re trying to convince them to change their logo for 10/10/10, the World Day against the Death Penalty.
What we would like you to do is to create a logo specially for Google. You can use a poster you’ve already submitted to us as base, or do something completely new if you didn’t have the chance to participate to the poster competition. Each idea will be submitted to Google in support of our campaign.
Google isn't officially supporting this initiative. But Google has proven to be a company with a commitment to human rights issues. A couple of years ago they turned their background colour to black for Earth Hour, and this year they endorsed the Breaking Borders award and decided to leave the Chinese market because of concerns about freedom of expression. We hope that they'll share our belief that it's vital to act on political issues that affect the United States (and China) directly.
To all of you that would like to take part to this initiative, please note that unlike the Death is Not Justice poster project, this is not a competition. There will be no catalogues, no exhibitions.
But we could all be winners, if we manage to get Google on our side.
To participate, just go on your account page by logging in the website, and scroll below to see the "google for tomorrow" button.
